"What's magical about travelling aboard Le Ponant is its approach. The yacht always gets up close and personal. Landscapes, lagoons, people. You feel it is just the world and you. We took our then six-year-old granddaughter to Corsica. It was wonderful. Swimming with her from the marina, having the sea as your private pool... I think the marina is my favourite place on the ship. I sit there and contemplate my surroundings. I take a book with me, which I inevitably abandon, caught up in the scenery or the crew's manoeuvres, which I can watch from the front row on the Sun Deck. One of the words I would choose to define the ship and the unrivalled experience it offers is 'humility', particularly in the face of the elements. Even though we're not always under sail – the engines play their part too – I know that we are going to be moving along. I like this movement. It's alive. When the lapping waves dictate their rhythm on Le Ponant, you feel humbled by nature. With its renovation [in 2021, editor's note] Le Ponant has maintained the same silhouette. Its intimate feel has been preserved and even enhanced. The lounge and bar areas are cosy and tastefully decorated. The proximity creates a very special atmosphere. The captain shares his love of the sea with you, and the on-board staff take great care of you. The fact that there are only around 30 guests on board also allows a certain camaraderie to develop. That's what we are looking for when we sail aboard this yacht. To explore intimate corners of the world, and to get up close and personal with the captain and crew. It is like being part of a family." 56 Through the eyes of Jeannine Keller"Humbled by nature" Le Ponant? This is her favourite yacht – "the DNA of the company". One of our most loyal guests, Jeannine Keller has explored South India, the Maldives, Croatia and Corsica with us. As Le Ponant prepares to set sail for the West Indies this winter 2025-2026, Jeannine gives us an insight into her voyages on board.
