This new tax, amounting to ISK 1,000 per stateroom and per night spent on Icelandic territory, will be charged on board at the end of the cruise and paid to the port authorities. (2) Greenland: visas are required for certain countries. See the list on https://nyidanmark.dk/en-GB/ (3) Please note that for polar plunge, an EKG (electrocardiogram) by your general practitioner, in addition to the PONANT medical questionnaire, will be required. Also, for persons under 18 wishing to take part in this activity, as well as kayaking, a sworn statement from the parents or legal guardians stating the minor can swim will be required. A parent or legal guardian must be present during the activity. (4) Polar diving: the required level for guests wishing to dive in polar regions is PADI Advanced Open Water or CMAS 2 stars with a dry suit qualification. You also need to demonstrate with your dive log at least 50 dives in cold water, including 20 dives with a dry suit. You will need to provide a certificate of non-indication against the practice of diving. There is no decompression chamber in the polar regions, and diving can be risky. Keep in mind that medical facilities may be several hours, or several days away. (5) Canada: travel by sea: the eTA is not required for US, Australian and British citizens; however, should your flight transit via Canada, you must apply for the eTA before your departure on http://www.canada.ca/en/index.html.
